Regal Dobro Guitars
Regal Dobros have been a favorite since the early 1930s. The first production took place in Chicaco, and by 1937 Regal had taken over exclusive rights as the manufacturer of dobros. During the World War II, production ceased as factories were converted to manufacture essential war-time products.

Regal Dobros were reintroduced by Saga in 1987, and have regained a position of leadership in the resophonic guitar market.

Squareneck dobros - which until recently were used only in bluegrass, country and Hawaiian music, have now crossed over into nearly every style of American music. Television and radio commercials rely increasingly on the distinctive dobro sound to catch consumers' attention.

Roundneck Regals are often played in standard guitar tuning, but just as frequently in open tunings which are particularly well-suited for bottleneck blues stylings. An extention nut (our F-3303 below) readily converts any roundneck to a lap-style guitar.
